With reference to this office's despatch No. 280/F.0.

of the 17th. July last and in reply to your communication No. 2422/1918 of the 27th, of the same month:

requesting that you be acquainted in due course with

the result of the enquiry est on foot by the Maoso

Government regarding the shipment by the Maono Opium

Farmer on 21st. April last of 122 cases purporting

to contain opiumi

I now have the honour to inform you that the chief Justice

of Macao, in view of the petition made by the Attorney

General, has decided that this case be archived.

It is possible that this affair is not definitely

settled as the officer Administænting the Colony on behalf

of the Governor has, I learn, called for a true copy of the

whole case.
